I am trying to find the most flexible e-Book platform for STM publications.  I have some functional requirements and wonder if anyone has found such a platform that fits the bill.

I would be grateful for any feedback or suggestions and reasons why they may be good or where they are not so good.

The e-Book has to live in alongside and within an electronic information environment that is predominantly journal article driven on mature platforms and where journal articles will be picked-up and indexed by Abstracting and Indexing services.  I want to to include e-Books in this user area

My shopping list of the top of my head, which is very basic and what I would expect from an e-journal platform or database.

SEARCHING
Supports searching via the web interface
      contents of book
      Abstract of chapter
      Full text
      Limit to subscribed content only
      Limit to broad subject classification
      Search all content

Supports searching via an API or XML gateway interface
This is required for federated searching at the same level of sophistication as the web interface.

OPEN LINKING
Book chapters that quote references are enabled for reference linking outward to the cited document when they are available at the publishers website
Supports OpenURL linking - Cited references can be defined by to take the user back to your preferred link resolver.
Supports Open Linking back into the document by a derivable URL or DOI.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC SOFTWARE
Full bibliographic citation of the book or book chapter on a click can be automatically exported to populate Bibliographic software such as Reference Manager, RefWorks or EndNote.

USAGE STATISTICS
Statistics based on the Counter definitions be available online for review whenever they are required.  The statistics give a clear indication of access based on book title as well as the overall 'subscription package' usage activity.
All statistics broken down also by sites for multi-site subscription.

e-BOOK ADDED FUNCTIONALITY
The e-book offer additional functionality not usually associated with a print book.  Some level of interaction or download supplemental material. Offer Pay-Per-View for the occasional one-off views requested by users.

PLATFORM vs. PUBLISHER
Is there a single platform that does all or most of these things.  The nearest I have found is ScienceDirect Books that ticks the majority of boxes.  I would prefer a platform that hosts multiple publishers.  It is never as simple as a single publisher hosting all the required stuff.
